The journey
In an experiment to see how students engaged with heritage spaces, selected students from city schools were taken on a heritage walk organised by an expert.
Post-walk, they sat in a 200 year old mansion – Vishrambaugwada, sketching what inspired them. Their sketches appear along with the art created by the book’s illustrator.
Fun activities for the book were designed to sensitise readers to the many interesting aspects of an earlier lifestyle. Edition 1, Feb 2017 was released by Lalita Iyer, journalist and bestselling author.
For the second edition of the book, we roped in a film maker to make videos to go along with the book. In another first, after a workshop with us, city students filmed and contributed footage of heritage sites.
Edition 2, Feb 2018, was released by Indutai, the oldest Punekar at 107 years, and by Sujata Dharap, Raju Sutar – acclaimed artists.
